Marike Knoef is Associate Professor at Leiden University and fellow of Netspar and ROA. She holds a PhD, MSc and BA in Econometrics from Tilburg University. Before Marike joined Leiden University, she worked at CentERdata. Furthermore, she gained experience at the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis and the Dutch Social and Economic Council. Marike’s research interests include household saving behavior, economics of aging, labor economics and health. She gives master classes on these topics at the TIAS School for Business and Society. She was recently granted a subsidy of the Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement (Netspar) for one of her research projects “Pension savings and consumption needs of current and future retirees”. This project started in 2014 and studies household savings, consumption and retirement decisions.
