Hendrik Jürges is currently full professor in health economics and management at the University of Wuppertal. He completed his Ph.D. in economics on “Intergenerational Transfers” at the University of Dortmund in 2000 and his habilitation thesis “Essays on Education and Health Economics” at the University of Mannheim in 2006. Jürges served as assistant professor in economics in Dortmund and Mannheim and became full professor in empirical health economics in Mannheim in 2009. From 2002 to 2010, he was deputy coordinator of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). His research interests are health, education, labor and family economics.
