Trudie Schils is associate researcher at the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics and a postdoctoral researcher at Kaans, Center for Education research. She teaches courses in the field of social economics and labour economics. Her research concentrates on the education and the labour market. Recent research concerns the analysis the performance of secondary school students in the Netherlands and how to improve this. She was recently granted a subsidy of the Dutch Ministry of Education and Culture (Onderwijsbewijs) for one of her research projects “Doen wat ik kan: leidt herhaalde zelfreflectie tot verbetering van schoolprestaties?”. This project starts in 2011 in cooperation with secondary schools in the Netherlands. The program aims to develop a method for increasing the performance of students using repetitive self-reflection.
