On Friday 10 May, Maria Ferreira Sequeda successfully defended her PhD thesis on: ‘Human Capital Development at School and Work’
Supervisor: Prof. dr. A. de Grip
Co-supervisor: Dr. A. Künn-Nelen
This thesis offers new insights into various factors related to the human capital development of children (at school) and adults (at work) over the lifecycle. The underlying tenet of this work is that human capital development contributes to both individual and collective economic and social success during initial education and henceforward. This thesis therefore emphasises the importance of formal education as well as school peers, families, co-workers and firms as sources of learning.
